Derek Boirun

Derek Boirun is an entrepreneur with institutional experience in commercial real estate development, EB-5 capital investments, and blockchain-based investing. He previously founded and currently acts as a managing member of American Economic Growth Fund, an EB-5 investment platform focused on sourcing overseas capital for U.S. based real estate projects which, to-date, owns 2 regional centers, hosts over 100 investors, and sponsors over $1.2 billion in total project cost. 


Mr. Boirun was previously involved with the development of major urban real estate projects while at Tishman Speyer, a leading owner, developer, operator, and fund manager of first-class real estate worldwide with a property portfolio in excess of $70 billion in total value in the United States, Europe, Latin America, India, and China. Prior to this, Mr. Boirun was a member of the Manhattanville Development Group at Columbia University where he managed the design, development, and construction efforts for Columbia’s ongoing $6 billion-plus academic mixed-use expansion, including the new Columbia Business School, a $600 million project. Mr. Boirun has been an active member of the Urban Land Institute in addition to other real estate industry groups.


Mr. Boirun is a graduate of the University of Florida, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Architecture. Mr. Boirun is also a graduate of Columbia University, where he earned a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Development and a Master of Architecture degree.
